This item is a lot more efficient than the original 7805 and will run a lot cooler. Therefore the large metal heatsink can be removed as it will no longer be required.
A direct drop-in upgrade to the antiquated LMxx series. Boasting up to 96% efficiency without the need for extra heat dissipation such as a heat sink.
